Shaping the needs of the Community in the future of Sprowston
Lots of ideas and opinions were put forward at the community planning event held earlier this month by stakeholders and residents for inclusion in the Neighbourhood Plan and work continues to translate the issues and aspirations for the neighbourhood into proposals for change. If you missed this event, but would like to put forward your views, there is still an opportunity to comment by contacting the Council office.
Sprowston Youth Engagement Project
The Matthew Project has been delivering a youth project on Wednesday evenings out of the Voicebox caravan on the Sprowston Recreation Ground since the begininng of 2011. The current project is coming to an end.
Broadland District Council, Norfolk Constabulary, Sprowston Town Council and the YMCA along with local young people, are working together in an attempt to establish a permanent youth club in the area and are looking for volunteers to help set up and run a project which will hopefully continue to run on a Wednesday evening.
Roles include: Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Committee members and Helpers at the group
All volunteers will need to have a Criminal Records Bureau check and provide a character reference. As a volunteer you will gain knowledge and skills and will have the opportunity to put existing ones to use. Training and support will be provided. This will be an amazing opportunity to build upon your skills and make a valuable contribution to the lives of the young people in your area.
